Terry's Tours Scenario
(website brief)

User Requirements Task

Could Terry’s Tours advertise its services by using a website to explain what it offers? You could make them a website which:Advertises Terry’s Tours
Shows a sample of the activities on offer
Gives details the location and example prices for the tours / activities on offer.

It may include...

  • a location map
  • a list of facilities
  • parking info
  • what Terry's Travel offers
  • Travel information
  • Advice on Travel / holidays

Make up a simple page of USER requirements for your project. What do Terry's Travel require? How could you meet their needs?

What you have to do...

This section is the practical part of the full course. You need to design your own project which enables the customers of Terry’s Tours to become more aware of the Holidays / deals / special tours on offer. It could be a website with between 6 and 12 pages of useful information and travel advice.

Start off by downloading and reading through the Scenario on the left.

Your website needs to contain at least ONE of the following

  • A holiday advice guide explaining the do’s and don’ts of the Countryside Code in the form of a multi-choice quiz
  • Travel Advice for tourists in the form of a multi-choice interactive activity
  • Customer satisfaction survey in the form of a multi-choice questionnaire
  • A Cost calculator which totals up holiday costs, VAT, discounts etc so that the users can enter how many adults and children will go and it works out how much the total price of the holiday will cost.

Getting Started: The Website

You could start the website by downloading
this ttweb zipped folder.
Once downloaded, unzip the folder and then edit the pages in Dreamweaver.
Add your own images in the images folder
Make new pages and link them together using hyperlinks.
Make the content and design look professional.
The examples above use a frameset. This means that links on the side frame can display new pages in the mainframe. Framesets have disadvantages too.
If you prefer working on a website without using a frameset you could use
this version to get started.
